We had the great fortune in mid June 2006 to be in Arrazola on the night of their annual fiesta and calenda (procession) in honor of the Holy Trinity, who are patron saints of the village in addition to San Antonio. The fiesta is sponsored each year by several patrons, and this was one was particularly special to us because four of the patrons were the renowned maestros of Oaxacan woodcarving: Moises, Angelico and Isaias Jimenez. Armando Jimenez, was the esteemed Master of Ceremonies, and his wife Antonia, a very talented painter as well, was taking part in los bailes ~ the dances.
