¡Hola, dear Friends of Mexico Lindo! We're glad to be welcoming the arrival of Summer at last! We've been thinking about Dads, with Fathers' Day just around the corner on June 19th. Here are some of our picks for the occasion:
...Because he's not an ordinary guy, some extraordinary ties! From our Pineda Covalin collection in 100% silk and classic Mexican motifs, from $58-80. Left: Bonampak murals. Center: Stone of the Sun and Mata Ortiz designs. Right: Cacaxtla murals. The lower priced items reflect stock that we had before their latest price increases, so take advantage of that limited supply while it lasts!
Above: some cool and elegant summer clothing choices: left: a Sahuayo fedora from Michoacan and a linen guayabera from the Yucatan, $40 and $70. Center: Soccer Dads always love jerseys, which we have in a large variety of countries for $24 each. Right: Beat the heat with a dandy straw hat for $35 and pair it with a cotton shirt with breezy crocheted panels, $46.
Put a ring (or a bracelet or a necklace) on it or help him shoot his cuffs! We have a nice selection of sterling silver rings, both plain and with gemstones, above and below, from $30-65. Below left: cuff links with onyx Hunab Ku symbols, below, $36. Below center: Assorted leather bracelets, plain, with woven palm and gold sheen obsidian, $12-30. Below right: giant handmade heavy wheat link 20" chain, $197.
For those from Pittsburgh, we want to let you know about an upcoming Benefit Concert in honor of a friend and father whom we lost not long ago. Leo Welsh, a member of both the local stagehands and filmworkers unions, died suddenly, leaving behind his wife and three young children. A memorial fund has been set up for them and all proceeds from the Benefit Concert go to this fund. The concert, featuring Amos Lee, Good Brother Earl, Court IV, Harmon Creek, Caleb Lovely and Steve Cohagen, will be held at the Diesel Club Lounge on Sunday July 17th at 6:00 pm. The club is located at 1601 E. Carson Street in the South SIde and a minimum donation of $10 is requested for each ticket. A small price to pay indeed for a lot of entertainment and the knowledge that you are helping a family in need. Tickets are available here at the store.
For those from out of state: as always, if you see something you want here, or have a question, just send Lisa an email or call toll free to make arrangements!
¡Hasta la proxima vez...until next time, have some fun in the sun!
