For me, art is integrative and narrative. I tell my story by printmaking. When I create images, I am embarking on a personal exploration through which an audience can also participate in what I have experienced visually. My work is the expression and extension of myself, and at the same time, it is a way to preserve a record of my history and the contexts that have given my identity meaning. But this is not a self-centered journey. My work simultaneously visualizes the diverse ways that human beings reveal themselves through specific cultural icons and the feelings that underlie such expression.
